Paneer or cottage cheese or tofu- they all are yummy for vegetarians. Paneer pulao is famous in Andhra, Maharashtra as they cook generally at their home on different occasions.  At home, whatever the occasion is? We generally cook paneer as a side dish to change our taste.

But sometimes, we do like to add paneer to our other dishes to enhance the taste of the recipe. I have tried my best to cook the paneer pulao recipe in the pressure cooker.

The use of the cooker will save our time as it is get prepared in few minutes. Anyone can acquire the original taste of paneer pulao by following the easy paneer pulao recipe step by step.

Many Jain people like to cook the paneer pulao recipe without onion and garlic as they consider both the onion and garlic as Tamsic bhojan.

Even in our day to day life, paneer pulao goes good in the lunch box or any kitty party. I have tried many ways to cook it but the present one is the easy and the best way to cook paneer pulao as it is low time-consuming and delicious to serve with some gravy or raita. This is very nutritive in nature as paneer itself is a complete food.

Ingredients for paneer pulao recipe

  • Store-bought paneer cubes - 200 gm
  • Onion- 1 big size
  • Jeera- 1 tbs
  • Ghee- 2 tbs
  • Cloves- 3 pieces
  • Bay leaf- 1
  • Green Cardamom- 3 pieces
  • Black Cardamom- 1 piece
  • Cinnamon stick- 1 small
  • Nutmeg- a pinch
  • Rice- 2 cups (keep it soaked in water for 30 minutes)
  • Water- 2 & ½ cups
  • Salt- a pinch

 

Method To Prepare Paneer Pulao Recipe

Step1: 

Wash the rice in a mixing bowl and soak it in water for 30  minutes. Select basmati rice for pulao for better taste. Now take a pan and fry the store-bought paneer cubes in it.

Our pan-fried paneer is ready for preparing paneer pulao. Sometimes we fry paneer, peas to give more enhanced veggies in the paneer pulao.

Step2: 

Now add all the sabut garam masala along with green chili and let it splutter for few seconds. Now add the sliced onion in it.

Now let the onion fry until its color changes to brown. Add the paneer and the rice as per mentioned in the ingredients section. Keep the cooker on medium flame.

Step3: Let the rice fry for 2-3 minutes. Add the pinch of nutmeg powder and salt according to the taste. Now add the water as guided in the ingredient section.We have added little less water to cook the rice. 

Keep the pressure-cooking on medium flame.Let the cooker gives one whistle which will help the rice to be cooked properly and the rice will be in separate condition instead of sticky in nature.

Step4: 

Serve the paneer pulao in a serving bowl of rice dish with cucumber raita and enjoy the meal. Sometimes we cook the peas pulao in the same process.
