Its a long back story... In India, people give value to their customs and traditions from years back.
Many people refrain to consume root vegetables and eat only sattvic food (that’s based on the qualities of goodness, lightness and happiness).
Since some vegetables are considered ‘tamasic’ (having the quality of darkness, lethargy and carrying putrid smell), they are not included in the diet.
These types of categorical bifurcation is counted long back in India. People do observe the things as their forefather have observed it. They will not see the goodiness and greatness which is filled in the veggies. They will see with the eyes of their ancestors to give them gratitude that what they followed blindly will be always true.
But in my views we should not judge the things by theit cover and smell. We do have right to see the things from our eyes and our tradition needs changes.
Whatever the reason to follow the custom that to prohibit tamsic bhojan like onoion and garlic because of its smell. We do need to see their values which have been incorporated in it.
I mean to say that onion and garlic is full of valuable composition which are really beneficial to our immune system.
In my views, we should accept the nature's creation and love to eat them because they boost our immune power.
Have a great day.... Please comment on my blog if you like my thoughts.
